Element of design

Good graphic design is a use of set of tools, known as the elements of design to build an imagination that comes within our minds to become a reality. A good graphic design can deliver a message to the viewers like the old saying ''a picture worth a thousand words.'' What must be needed in order to create a good design? There are 6 element of design that can be use to do so; which are lines, shape, size, color, value and texture.


 This is one of the example that uses six element of design in one poster.

 1. Lines

 Under this poster I believed that the designer of this poster uses a lot of lines. We can see that the designer uses compacted lines to create a different texture for viewers to see it. Other than that, the designer used line as a border between the text. It can be seen in the poster where the designer uses the line to separate the eyes of the viewers at the actor's and actress's name, the title of the movie and the credit. Line plays an important role as it can be use for many purposes if we utilize it properly. 







2. Shape

The designer uses a lot of shape like triangle, semi circle, rectangle and mix it up to create a authentic design. In addition, the designer uses shape to portray something like semi circle to portray as an eyes. 













3. Size 

 To me, I strongly believe that the size of the eyes is the most eye catching in this poster. Because of the shape it uses to portrays as an eye and bigger size, it has become a focus point in this poster although the size of the hand is bigger than the size of the eyes.



4. Color | 5. Value

 The color in this poster is based on neon which is bright and striking color. It creates a strong value of an adrenaline-feel towards viewers.


6. Textures

 The textures in this poster are a bit rough as to why it is related to the title "Beast in a Neon Cage" itself; it portrays the distress of the beast when it is mesmerizing the painful moments while trapped inside the neon cage.

In my opinion, a famous quote by Henry Ford which is ''A man who stops advertising to save money is like a man who stops a clock to save time.'' It refers to a man that try to stop advertising of his product in order to save his money. However, if you stop advertise your product you might spend less but you'll definitely receive less in return as well. Lately, We have seen Burger King has been boosting their marketing effort in order to build their brand reputation especially in Malaysia. Despite the challenges and competition from other food chain company such as McDonald's. In Malaysia, McDonald has a strong brand image compare to Burger King.
